DESCRIPTION:The Red Tower will be open as part of the Jorvik Viking Festival 2020 and we are running a free Viking York Exhibition. \nLearn more about the Viking history of York from Tom Gibson\, one of York’s foremost authorities on the Viking settlement of our city\, he will be displaying his collection which includes weaponry and clothing. Tom will be on site throughout the day giving talks and answering questions. As well as showing videos on the remarkable transatlantic voyage of a replica longship. \nYou can also experience the history of the Red Tower and find out more about the other events we are running. \nEnjoy hot & cold drinks (including hot mulled apple juice) and cakes. \nAs well as maps and guides to the Walls. \nDonations to the Red Tower are very much appreciated. \nVolunteers are needed for this and future events\, please come along on the day or use the Contact us page form. \nSee what else is open using the link below.
