SUMMARY:YorSpace Community Share Offer event
DESCRIPTION:This event offers an opportunity to meet YorSpace residents and Directors and ask about investing in community-owned housing.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nCalling all ethical investors! \nThis event offers an opportunity to meet our residents and Directors and ask about investing in community-owned housing\, a new type of home ownership for people in York. \nWe all know there is a housing crisis in York with many people\, especially younger families\, locked out of traditional home ownership. A recent Post Office Money study found that there is no area in York which is affordable to first time buyers. The current system is broken so we need to find a way to change the market. This event is an opportunity to hear more about the Yorspace vision for revolutionising how housing is funded\, delivered and owned in York. \nYorSpace is a community-led co-operative\, passionate about making access to housing fairer\, better for the environment\, focused around the needs of the community and permanently affordable. YorSpace has planning permission for 19 fully sustainable low carbon homes at Lowfield Green in York and for the first time are using a community share offer to raise money for homes in the community. The Share Offer period ends at the end of October\, so now is your chance to buy shares in this exciting project for York. \nFree entry includes drinks and refreshments.
